Pre Croatia Sailing: Split

Aussies are great. We made friends with more Australians than we could count while we were in Europe – we’re everywhere!

Whilst on a pub crawl in Amsterdam we met Stevie and his friend Daniel, and we planned to catch up with them in Split before our sailing tours.

About to live off a boat for a week we wanted to take it easy, and recover from an interesting night on the overnight ferry.

We spent the day strolling around town browsing the expansive markets, putting our feet in the ocean and finding the boats we would be living from the next day.

Split is a great town with a mix of new and old. The main boardwalk has countless new restaurants and cafes, while still incorporating the surrounding old buildings.

The day before a Croatia Sailing tour should be restful and relaxing. But the night before is a different story!

Hiring a tiny apartment it was the first time we had actually cooked a meal since being away. Pasta and tomato sauce it was! We even did the dishes (shock, I know).

Triple J Hottest 100 playlist pumping and mucking around with the webcam, it was one of the more fun nights in we’d had. And the three bottles of vodka that were drunk… I'm putting it down to training for the week ahead on Croatia Sailing.

Loving Croatia already, Nikki
